This is the podcast for service-based business owners, including professional services and solopreneurs, who want to find calm in the chaos of marketing, reduce the fatigue that comes from trying to do everything, and finally create a rhythm that works for them.

If you ever feel like marketing is a never-ending treadmill, this episode is for you.

Today, we’re talking about how to reduce marketing fatigue with what I call a Monthly Organising Spine for your marketing. It’s a simple way to bring focus, structure, and balance to your marketing without burning out.

Let’s dive in.

The Marketing Fatigue Cycle

It’s a pattern I see all the time. You start the month with the best intentions. You set big goals, make plans, and feel motivated. But then client work ramps up, unexpected demands take over, and marketing slides to the bottom of the list.

Suddenly, it’s the end of the month, and you’re frustrated that nothing’s moved forward. So, you push harder, try to do everything at once, and the cycle repeats.

This Is where fatigue sets in

Marketing fatigue isn’t about laziness or lack of discipline. It’s about not having a manageable rhythm that fits your business and your energy.

That’s why I developed the concept of a Monthly Organising Spine.

It gives your marketing structure without suffocation. It helps you know what needs to be done, when, and why. And now, with the launch of my Monthly Marketing Momentum Calendar for business owners like you to download for free. You can build that structure into your marketing with ease and  reduce marketing fatigue.

The Story Behind the Better Marketing Monthly Marketing Momentum Calendar

One of my mentoring clients, who recently completed my Strategy Cycle™ Program and is now part-way through a 12-month mentoring journey, inspired this idea.

For him, the big picture of marketing had always felt overwhelming. He was constantly comparing himself to competitors who seemed to be smashing it online — what I call competitoritis.

He’d compare, put pressure on himself to do more, then freeze, overthink, and end up doing nothing.

We flipped that. Now, we meet for just one hour a month online, and he’s focused, consistent, and confident. The big difference is that he no longer feels like he’s falling behind. He’s tracking progress, celebrating small wins, and building marketing momentum that feels manageable.

And now, he’ll also be using the free Monthly Marketing Momentum Calendar to keep everything flowing. It’s the perfect way to keep organised, accountable, and on track between our mentoring sessions.

Creating Your Monthly Organising Spine

Start by identifying your marketing anchors — the non-negotiables that keep your business visible and consistent. That could be a weekly LinkedIn post, a monthly email, or a quarterly review.

Next, assign each marketing activity to a set week of the month. For example:

  • Week 1: Planning and reviewing.
  • Week 2: Content creation.
  • Week 3: Outreach or networking.
  • Week 4: Review and refine.

This marketing rhythm forms your monthly organising spine. It creates focus without friction.

And remember, it’s not about perfection. It’s about progress.

When You Feel Fatigue Creeping In

Pause and review your energy, not just your activity. Ask yourself, “What’s feeling heavy right now?” Then simplify. Cut the clutter. Go back to your organising spine and focus on what truly moves the needle.

Marketing fatigue often comes from trying to keep up with everyone else. But your marketing should fit you — your business, your style, your energy.
