AI Myths Busted: What’s Real, What’s Hype, and What Actually Works Is Here
Hi, I’m Tracy Heatley, and thank you for tuning in to the Better Marketing podcast, bringing you Marketing Magic in Minutes.
This episode is for service based business owners, including professional services and solopreneurs, who feel like they should be using AI by now, but aren’t quite sure what’s real, what’s hype, and what actually works in practice.
AI Myths Busted Introduction
If AI feels overwhelming, confusing, or like yet another thing you should be doing but don’t quite know where to start, you’re not alone.
There are a lot of myths around AI right now. That it will replace your voice. That it will make your marketing sound robotic. That it’s only for big businesses with big budgets.
The truth is far more balanced.
AI works best when it supports you, not replaces you. It removes pressure and creates clarity.
When I train clients one to one on ChatGPT, there’s a moment I see every time. Their shoulders drop. There’s often a sigh of relief. Not because AI does the work for them, but because the pressure lifts.
Clients realise they can plan faster, prepare more confidently, and execute their marketing without it taking over their lives.
One client recently told me that her ChatGPT training session was life changing. We mapped out three months of content in two hours. She went from overwhelmed to excited, with clarity and confidence.
Just to give you a sense of how quickly this space is moving, at the time of recording this episode, AI is advancing at an incredible pace.
Let me reassure you though, this is me and this is my voice. This podcast is recorded by me.
That said, it is now possible to clone your own voice for things like podcasting and content, and at the moment myself and a few other AI experts I know are trialling tools such as Clawd Robot.
The point isn’t that everyone should rush out and use these tools. It’s about understanding what’s possible, what’s coming, and making informed and ethical choices about how and when you use AI in your business.
This is where AI truly shines for service based businesses. It bridges the gap between small businesses and large organisations.
Practical AI Tips
Here are a few practical AI tips you can take away from this episode.
Find the right AI platform for you. You don’t need everything. Start with one. I personally favour ChatGPT and use it extensively with clients. I’m also a CIM certified AI Marketing Specialist and advanced prompt engineer, so using AI strategically and responsibly is something I take very seriously.
Learn to use it properly and ethically. This includes what to input, what to avoid, and how to use AI responsibly. If you want to get this right from the start, you can book a two hour one to one ChatGPT training session with me, where we work live on prompts, planning and content together.
Keep honing your skills. The more you train your AI, the more it works like a member of your team, supporting your thinking rather than replacing it.
Give AI structure. Tools like my Monthly Marketing Momentum calendar (only available up to May 2026) give AI the framework it needs to support your marketing consistently. For everything else, there is a selection of AI blogs and articles available on my website.
