Marketing Creativity Unlocked for service-based and professional service business owners.
Creativity in Marketing – Even the Most Analytical Can Be Creative
Hi, I’m Chartered Marketer, Tracy Heatley, and thank you for tuning in to the Better Marketing Podcast, bringing you Marketing Magic in Minutes.
This podcast is for service-based and professional services business owners and entrepreneurs who want to market with confidence, clarity, and creativity.
In this episode, I’m exploring ‘Marketing Creativity Unlocked’. This is for you, even if you’ve always believed you’re “not the creative type.”
We’ll look at what creativity really means, why it’s not reserved for designers or artists, and how structure-loving professionals like accountants, consultants, or analysts can use creativity to stand out. I’ll also share a real-world story from one of my clients who discovered her hidden creativity and transformed her marketing because of it.
What Creativity in Marketing Really Means
Creativity in marketing isn’t about being loud, wacky, or wildly original. It’s about problem-solving, perspective, and connection. It’s finding fresh, relevant ways to communicate what you do and why it matters to your target audience.
Even if you love structure, numbers, and systems, you can still be creative – it just looks different. Analytical thinkers often bring innovation through logic, clarity, and simplification.
One of my financial services clients told me, “I’m not creative.” But through our mentoring work, she realised her creativity came from turning complex data into easy-to-understand visuals for clients. That was her creative strength. Once she recognised it, her marketing became far more powerful and authentic.
Quick Wins for Sparking Creativity
If you want to boost creativity in your marketing, start with small shifts in thinking.
Ask “what if?” more often – curiosity breeds new ideas.
Look for inspiration outside your industry – some of the best ideas come from unexpected places.
Experiment with creative tools such as mind maps, AI idea generators, or content repurposing apps.
And most importantly, give yourself permission to test, learn, and refine. Every campaign doesn’t have to be perfect the first time. For sure, these will kick-start you getting your marketing creativity unlocked
