In the Classromm Kitchen with James Deveney, founder of Classroom Kitchen, on Mind Your Own Business.

Tracy Heatley’s special guest this week was James Deveney, who founded Classroom Kitchen in 2018.

About James Deveney

James Deveney cooking in a classroom kitchenWe learn all about James Deveney, who is a former primary school teacher.   With his teaching background and family history of food specialists it all makes sense.

As a determined person, James has had his share of challenges, but has overcome them every time.   His flair for this business and desire the help young children and people  learn to cook is what  drives him.

Adapting During The Pandemic

Adapting during the pandemic has created enormous opportunities for James to take his business online. He supported schools and children through You Tube video lessons.   Whilst doing all this, he’s created an online platform to provide future lessons online anywhere in the UK. Whilst James doesn’t have to be in the classroom, he has the perfect systems in place, so lessons will work effectively.  Equipment will be provided to schools, along with full support for teachers.

This means that, schools and community groups can benefit from the same high level of lessons previously offered at a lower price.

Tracy’s Thoughts

Doing this interview was an absolute joy!

What an inspiration James Deveney, from Classroom Kitchen, is.  Not only has he established a unique business to fill a gap in the market, he is a genuine person who wants to help children thrive.

I have to admire the adaptability that James has shown during the pandemic, because he’s sustained the business and prepared it for growth.

Three words that spring to mind about this interview are great, genuine and growth.
